The Problem We Saw

In 2018, our founder Arjun Mehta visited 40 small towns across India for a research project. In every town, he found the same story: shop owners who couldn't get a GST certificate because the nearest chartered accountant charged ₹8,000 and was three hours away. Manufacturers who had won government tenders but didn't know how to submit the bid documents. Entrepreneurs with ideas but no access to the legal and financial scaffolding that urban businesses take for granted.

The Indian government had digitized many services. But nobody had built the last-mile layer — trained humans, local offices, and simple software — to make those services accessible to people who weren't in the top 8 cities.

The Model We Built

UdyogMitra combines three things that usually don't exist together: a national catalog of services, a network of trained local partners who deliver them, and a technology platform that makes the whole thing trackable and accountable.

Our franchise model lets local entrepreneurs — shop owners, CSC operators, accountants — earn a full-time income from services they could never afford to build themselves. Our business services team handles the complex stuff — company incorporation, tenders, trademarks — so business owners get the same quality of service whether they're in Mumbai or Muzaffarnagar.

Where We Are Today

Eight years in, UdyogMitra operates in 500+ cities across 22 states. We have 3,200+ active partners, 5 regional offices, and have helped 50,000+ businesses with registrations, compliance, and funding. We're backed by a mix of angel investors and strategic partners including major public sector banks.

We're still solving the same problem we started with. It just looks different at scale.
