About This Service

Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana provides collateral-free loans to non-corporate, non-farm micro and small enterprises engaged in manufacturing, trading, services, and activities allied to agriculture. The scheme has four categories: Shishu covers loans up to ₹50,000, Kishore covers ₹50,000 to ₹5 lakh, Tarun covers ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh, and Tarun Plus covers ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh for borrowers who have previously taken and fully repaid a Tarun loan. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for a MUDRA loan?
Any non-corporate, non-farm micro or small enterprise with a credit need up to ₹20 lakh. This includes kirana shops, tailors, artisans, small manufacturers, food stalls, service providers, and transport operators.
What is the Tarun Plus category?
Tarun Plus covers loans from ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh and is available to borrowers who have previously availed a Tarun category loan and repaid it successfully. It was introduced when the overall MUDRA ceiling was raised to ₹20 lakh.
Is collateral required for a MUDRA loan?
No. MUDRA loans are collateral-free. Lenders are covered under the Credit Guarantee Fund for Micro Units, which is what makes unsecured lending viable for them.
What is the interest rate?
There is no single fixed rate. It is set by each lender based on their internal policy and your profile, typically ranging from about 8% to 12% per annum for bank lending.
Can I apply if I already have a business loan?
Yes, provided your total MUDRA exposure stays within the ceiling and your repayment record on existing borrowing is clean. Lenders will assess your overall debt servicing capacity.
